Things I Wore This Week
The six month hunt for a vintage leather bomber, my initial foray into layered necklaces, and embracing belts.
Hello, my lovely fashion friends and happy Sunday! This week was a fun week for outfits. If you read this post I wrote about my accessorizing goals for this year, you’ll know I have big plans to layer necklaces and wear more belts. I’m still working on building my collection, but it’s an ongoing process and my limited arsenal thus far cannot stop me from diving in.
I recently bought this very Tiffany-esque horsebit chain link necklace at Nordstrom Rack - it has a pave carabiner link, but I took it off and reattached the links. Here is another really good option. I also fell victim to the TikTok hype around Brooklyn Charm a few months ago, and while it’s not the most high quality necklace, it’s a fun layering piece until I invest in better, probably vintage, pieces.
Look 1
I went to a friend’s birthday party on Friday - it was a chill apartment party, so I went with my basic uniform - jeans, boots, and a black top. The silhouette helped to elevate the look from day to night. These jeans are super long on me, and I just got these Sies Marjan boots from TheRealReal (for $150, I love their sales!). I’ve also spent about 6 months trying to find the perfect vintage leather bomber jacket, and I finally snagged this one on Poshmark for $80. It has the perfect amount of wear, and actually fits me relatively well. The top is a basic Free People scoop back top, the belt is vintage horse hair leopard print, and my bag is my pride and joy vintage find. It took me weeks to hunt down - it’s a wine colored Rina Rich horsebit shoulder bag - very Gucci, but under $100.

Monday morning is always a rough time. I wanted to be comfy, so this is not a very fashion look, but accessories are always a good way to spice up an otherwise very boring outfit. The hint of the t-shirt hem makes it look like I put a bit more thought into my look, and the leopard belt is back. I swear by these Gap jeans - they are the perfect rise and as a 5’1” lady, I struggle to find jeans that actually hit at a good length. I also swear by my Golden Goose Ballstar sneakers. They also have a leopard version that I’ve been eyeing.

I think we should bring back the graphic tee over long sleeve 90s look. I layered a graphic ‘The Who’ band tee over a Zara double layered top (found on Poshmark). While I don’t usually order from Zara, I occasionally buy basic pieces from them and this black top has been put to good use. The blazer is vintage Gap (I swear by their vintage leather, it is such good quality) and the fur is my favorite vintage find. The pants are Rag & Bone cargo pants that I bought on The Outnet five or six years ago, and they are still in my regular rotation. And to finish it off, my favorite Inch2 boots.

Some variations of the same look. The base of this is a barrel leg dark wash denim (Zara, but thrifted) and a vintage suede button down shirt from one of my favorite Brooklyn thrift stores - check out Yesterday’s News!! The belt is Max Mara from Cure Thrift, and I snagged these Phillip Lim boots in brown at their sample sale for $100 a few years ago. I tried a tie and layered belt for some additional detailing, but in the end I decided simpler was better for this outfit.

Look 5
An easy look for the farmer’s market. The same night out jeans, but cuffed. I’m a big fan of a monochrome look, and I thrifted this 100% cashmere Land’s End sweater at Goodwill for less than $10. I’ve also been loving a Birkenstock style clog for easy running around outfits, and this Anne Klein pair has been my winter go-to. I found them on Poshmark here and for $10 in leopard here! I topped it all off with a herringbone coat I’ve had for a few years, and my favorite Mary Poppins ‘this bag holds everything’ Tom Ford-era Gucci bag. I’ve linked similar here, here, here, here (in a buttery leather), and here.

I’ve been on the lookout for the same Rina Rich bag at a good price on Depop, love it! Look 4 served, and I loved the tie with it too! You’re the best with the links as well! Love the AK clogs
In addition to the clothes, you’re inspiring me to find a better background for my outfit pics !
